International Turfgrass Society

The International Turfgrass Society (ITS) is a not-for-profit scientific organization established in 1969 to encourage research and education in turfgrass science, and to promote personal communication among the international community of turfgrass researchers by organizing international conferences to present turfgrass research and information on all phases of turfgrass production and use.

To this end, International Turfgrass Research Conferences (ITRC) are held at 4-year intervals. The hosts for past conferences have been England (1969), the United States (1973, 1993, 2017), Germany (1977), Canada (1981, 2001), France (1985), Japan (1989), Australia (1997), U.K. (2005), Chile (2009), and China (2013).

The ITRC is being held in Copenhagen, Denmark in July 2022 (postponed from July 2021). Details can be found at the conference website ( The General Business meeting on 14 July 2022 has many items, and two of them are loaded here  #4 - Remembering Colleagues who have passed 2017-2022, and #10 - the Nominations Committee Report with details on Board members stepping down and ones being nominated. As well,  as of 12 July 2022, the complete issue of the ITSRJ vol. 14 is available online: . The ITRC articles from this meeting that were published in Crop Science or Agronomy Journal are available to ITS members until the end of July 2022 from the Wiley website at this link. ITS is working to secure access for ITS members through the secured ITS members site after that time, but the details have not been finalized. Such details will be announced in a future ITS NewsLetter report.

Membership Renewal  Renew your membership (or sign up for a new membership) for US$325 for 2018-2022. This covers the next International Turfgrass Research Conference which will be held in Copenhagen, Denmark, 10-15, July, 2022. The 2025 meeting is scheduled for Japan.
